About Noma

Noma Mouna was born in Latakia, a small town on the Mediterranean sea, where she discovered her love for music. She was encouraged by her dad to learn the piano at age 6 with professor Jacqueline Elias. Not long after, she won first prize at three national competitions as a child prodigy. Noma Studied vocal performance with professor Barbara Fox DeMaio in Salem College and studied piano with professor Barbara Lister Sink, graduating with her Bachelor of Art in Music Concentration in Vocal Performance. While also studying music composition in Salem College, she won the Katherine Rondthaler Awards twice for her original songs. During her musical journey, Noma was able to obtain several degrees in multiple fields, such as a Bachelor of Architecture Degree, a Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree, and a Minor in Chemistry. She also has a Doctorate of Pharmacy from Campbell University. So, alongside her music career, Noma currently works as a compounding pharmacist! In 2015, Noma joined the Triad Area Medical Orchestra which she continues to perform with to this day. Noma was invited to sing several classical arias with the orchestra under the baton of maestro Christopher Lees and Daniel Bukin. In her most current works, Noma worked with composer and maestro Todd Maki on her first song “Resurrected”, and worked with the scoring the orchestra (under the baton of maestro Maki) for her second song, “Silent Love”. Noma is married to her beloved husband, Hytham Mouna, and is a mother of two beautiful, talented and brilliant girls Sarah and Lora who continue to inspire her!
